About Sheddit!
A free, welcoming community workshop for everyone in Swavesey and the surrounding villages — making, mending, and connecting since 2019.
A community shed for all of us
Sheddit Community Shed is a non-profit organisation that provides a safe and welcoming space for people of all ages and backgrounds to come together and participate in meaningful activities. Our goal is to combat social isolation and promote mental health and wellbeing through community engagement and personal growth.
Our shed is equipped with a variety of tools and equipment for woodworking, metalworking, and other projects. We also offer workshops and classes on various topics, as well as social events and outings. Our members come from all walks of life and bring a wide range of skills and experiences to the community.
At Sheddit, we believe that everyone has something to contribute and that everyone deserves to feel valued and supported. Whether you’re a seasoned craftsman or a complete beginner, you’ll find a welcoming and supportive community here.
Our shed is open to all members of the community, regardless of gender, race, or ability. We strive to create an inclusive and accessible environment where everyone feels welcome and respected.
Our values
Everything we do is built on these four principles.
Inclusive
Open to all, regardless of gender, race, age, or ability. We actively work to remove barriers to participation.
Free to attend
Thanks to donations, grants and the generosity of our community, Sheddit is always free to attend.
Sustainable
We reuse, repair and recycle. Most of our materials are donated or reclaimed — good for us and the planet.
Community-led
Run entirely by volunteers for the benefit of the local community. Every decision is made with our members in mind.
Our volunteers
